Robert was interviewed by two of Cyprus's top stations, Sigma TV and Antenna TV on Feb. 10th.  The programs aired on the evening news.  Radio interviews will be broadcast tomorrow night on CYBC.  MEGA tv will run a new interview on their nightly news program tomorrow night.  Live presentations are being set up for the public in the cities of Nicosia, Paphos and Limassol for the next two weeks.  Stay tuned.

There will be two lectures at the Droushia Heights Hotel in Paphos on Friday evening Feb 27th and Sunday evenings 29th.

The expedition to find the remains of Plato's Atlantis is very likely to take place in the beginning of this summer.  The week-long, state-of-the-art multibeam survey and ROV research will cover a 200 sq. mile area. A public offering will be announced soon.

Precisely at midnight on Friday, April 30th, the Atlantis team will deploy a sealed canister containing the flags of Cyprus, the EU, and Atlantis, to then seafloor around Atlantis City, close to the site of the upcoming expedition later this summer.  The event is meant to celebrate the joining of Cyprus with the European Union and the beginning phase of the search for Atlantis City offshore Cyprus. There will be a ceremony on Thursday at the Limassol port attended by the Cyprus Tourism Organization and members of the press (restricted), which will be aired later by local and international media.

As planned, on the 29.04.2004 was the 1st major press conference on board the MV "EAS" with all local and several international media attending.

During the 1ST PRESS CONFERENCE a symbolic ceremony was held. the Atlantis flag, Cypriot flag and the flag of the European union was rolled in each other and sealed in a copper capsule, which will be deployed at the Atlantis site at midnight on the 30.04.2004 when Cyprus joins the European union.

Scientists still have no explanation for the strange anomalies on the newly created maps and models of the purported Acropolis Hill area.  "There must be something wrong with the data" has been the only basis for skepticism so far. Others, including a world renowned geophysicist and heretofore skeptic, have extensively studied the models and the data they were created from and have uniformly concluded that "it appears to be man-made."

The hour has come. The expedition vessel, sonar and ROV have been secured and the contracts are being finalized. The date is set for mid October, and the Atlantis team will be mobilized during the second week of the month. The round-the-clock operation will last four to six days at sea and will utilize some of the best specialists and equipment available in the world. 

CNN World Report will air the interview with Robert and Colin Wilson sometime before October 11th.

The Atlantis expedition is in its fourth day of operation and the  US/British/Cypriot crew (many of which worked on the Titanic project) is  currently surveying the target area with side scan sonar. The long-awaited  Atlantis expedition launched secretly on Monday. The operation will end on Saturday and the R/V Flying Enterprise should arrive at the Limassol port around  noontime. We have received word from Robert that the existence of the three kilometer wall at the base of the hill has been verified and that it is not, as some scientists have suggested, merely an error with the data. The canal running lengthwise along the middle of the hill has also been verified and it is concave, with evidence of a one-time riverbed running throughout its length. High resolution scanning of the summit is in progress and we will attempt to locate structures after post-processing of the data is completed and the 3d models are generated.

We are now authorized to release the previously generated 3D bathymetric maps and models of the hill area, which were created using newly acquired multibeam data from the French (IFREMER) "BLAC" expedition on November of 2003. This model shows the target hill area with numerous inexplicable anomalies on and around the summit of what is believed to be the Acropolis Hill. The size, location and nature of the hill is a perfect match with Plato's description. To view the images and animation files click here.

After the post-processing work is completed on the new survey being conducted by Robert Sarmast (much higher resolution maps will be created), we will release the new images and models publicly.

Post-processing has begun on the newly acquired side scan sonar data from the Atlantis expedition (not to be confused with the 3D maps/models just released using IFREMER multibeam data, which is much lower resolution in comparison). The new data will be converted to mosaic maps and 3D models showing the area in greater resolution than ever before. The new maps will be published in the next few weeks.

Robert will be announcing the initial results of his expedition to find the remains of Atlantis at a lecture in Limassol, Cyprus, on Tuesday December 7th, 6:30 p.m.  The presentation will include new maps and model and pictures from the expedition, and will be held at the Marathon Beach Hotel (phone: 357-25-320122). The lecture will precede a buffet dinner and will last for one hour with an extra ½ hour for questions.

Robert will arrive in Athens, Plato and Solon's hometown, on Dec. 13th for the release of the Greek translation of his book by Psichogios Publications (www.psichogios.gr).  The press conference is set up for Dec. 14th at noon by the publisher (contact Popi Galatoula at popi@psichogios.gr for details).  Robert will also be meeting with Ernst Schliemann, the great grand nephew of Heinrich Schliemann (discoverer of Troy) to discuss an Atlantis Conference centered around the Cyprus theory in Berlin, next February.

Phoenix International is conducting the post-processing work on the data acquired by the side-scan sonar during the expedition. The work has experienced delays but the results (mosaic imaging of the seafloor) should be coming soon.  The raw data will also be converted to 3D models by Patrick Lowry at the Scotia Group.
